CANAAN – Maria Oosawa
I always thought her name sounded familiar since I started watching CANAAN. Now I finally remember...
Conan O’Brien does anime voice-over
Came across this video today where Conan O'Brien visited Bang Zoom! Entertainment to "help out" with Ghost In The Shell voice-over. I don't watch his show but this is extremely hilarious...
Bakemonogatari – 君の知らない物語
Update: released! download it here
I was surprised when I saw the ending credits, this song is actually by composed by ryo from Supercell and vocals by nagi (who is apparently a famous female singer on NicoNico Douga). This is actually the song which will be featured in Supercell's upcoming singles "君の知らない物語" (Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari). It will be due on 12th August.
As for the anime itself, it's done by Shaft who is responsible for Pani Poni Dash!, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Natsu no Arashi just to name a few. Like any typical Shaft production, I have totally no idea where this series will be heading. In first episode, I was immediately greeted with a slow-motion pantsu shot (complete with timer) then immediately a series of guro scenes. Turns out that it will be a series about supernatural stuff, complete with parodies, which is again, typical of Shaft.
Regardless, this series is on my watch list, because it features a really hawt kowaii onee-san that immediately sticks a stapler and pocket knife into your mouth at first sight >:D
Kanamemo: DFC raep + yuri = win?
Just watched the first episode, this could very well be my favourite comedy/slice of life anime of this season.
lolicon:
and yuri:
Instant win? Probably.
This series is about a girl named Kana, who just lost her grandmother and doesn’t have any parents. When people started moving her late grandmother’s belongings out of the house, Kana thought that she is going to be sold to lolicons, since she is a DFC.

Obviously, she ran away from her grandmother’s house and eventually ended up with Fuhshin Shinbun, the newspaper delivery company. Of course, Fuhshin Shinbun’s DFC supervisor Saki gladly accepted Kana as their new employee (and as her decoy too).

Unfortunately, Kana is totally unaware that she will be staying in a very dangerous place. She will know soon enough, but it’s already too late >:D
Anyway, that's pretty much the premise of this show.
Kanamemo is an adaption from an ongoing 4 panel manga and it will be getting 13 episodes. Needless to say, I will definitely be following this series.
Natsu no Arashi 13: Yukkuri shiteitte ne!
In the last episode of Natsu no Arashi, there's actually a Touhou reference, which is quite a rare sight. This is the first time for me to see a Touhou reference in anime. For those who don't know, it's a reference to the famous "Yukkuri shiteitte ne!" meme that was spawned in 2ch.
Unfortunately, that is probably the only parody/reference that I recognize in this series. Take a look at this and you will see what I mean:
All of these are references from the 80s or maybe 70s in Japan, I wasn't even born yet! Obviously there is no way I could recognize any of these o_O but all I care is Arashi, so it's all fine >:D
On the other note, looks like Natsu no Arashi will be getting a sequel in October this year.
Hayate no Gotoku 2nd Season – 14
Hinagiku is amazing as always, it's not surprising at all to see her make a cleansweep in a popularity contest.

Maria did pretty well too, as expected of my favourite meido >:D
